Metharia was born in 1999 with the purpose to express deep feelings and beliefs (in Italian) and to show
a different face of the Italian music. The artistic production is really various and spaces from really
melodic harmonies to raw energy and powerful songs. Their strong human and musical feeling easy
emerges from the way they perform live and the energy they put in their songs.

The debut of the band came on the 18th January 2000 at “Notting Hill” in Naples and it was already a success.
After about a month from that appearance, on February 2000, Metharia won “Le Quattro Notti Rock” Festival.
Then, in September 2001, they placed second at the “Premio 29 Settembre - VII rassegna musicale
per artisti emergenti” and they also won “Rock Game” Festival in October 2002.

The band released two demos in 2000 and 2001: they got many good reviews on magazines and webzines all
over the world and their songs are in many international radios’ playlists (USA, Belgium, France, Perú, Italy, UK)
The new promo, released in January 2003, shows a more mature band, a deeper personality and a new
particular mix of infectious grooves, powerful songs and soften atmospheres. A better production, due to
Enzo “Soulfingers” Rizzo (MANU CHAO, MANO NEGRA, 99 POSSE, RANDAGI and ETOILE NOIRE) and Bob Fix’s mastering, makes this promo a clear mirror of the band’s potentialities.
